TorBrowser 9.0 with sidebar (e.g. history) does weird things to content panel

Actually this happens not only with the sidebar but when you change parts of the UI for example hiding/showing the menu bar / bookmarks toolbar.
This is a feature called letterboxing
- see the blog https://blog.torproject.org/new-release-tor-browser-90 . The size of your browser's chrome (sidebar, bookmark toolbar, resizing etc) dictates the size of the inner window which dictates how much letterboxing is used to keep your content (viewport) at rounded sizes

If you really don't like it, and you think your threat model doesn't need it, then you can turn it off (for now) by changing privacy.resistFingerprinting.letterboxing
to false
