On Android 7.1.2, I installed Tor Browser for Android from this official APK (the APK filename says version 9.0.2 and Android app info shows version 68.3.0).

After clicking on the Connect button, the big onion logo keeps slowly blinking with message "Opened HTTP tunnel listener on" under. This is always reproducible.

Swiping left reveals the following logs:

- Set background service to FOREGROUND
- updating settings in Tor service
- updating torrc custom configuration...
- success.
- checking binary version:
- Orbot is starting…
- Connecting to control port: 60526
- Connecting to control port: 52978
- SUCCESS connected to Tor control port.
- SUCCESS - authenticated tor control port.
- Took ownership of tor control port.
- adding control port event handler
- SUCCESS added control port event handler
- NOTICE: Opening Socks listener on
- Starting Tor client… complete.
- NOTICE: Opened Socks listener on
- NOTICE: Opening DNS listener on

- NOTICE: Opening Transparent pf/netfilter listener on
- NOTICE: Opened Transparent pf/netfilter listener on
- NOTICE: Opening HTTP tunnel listener on
- NOTICE: Opened HTTP tunnel listener on
- Starting Tor client... complete.

The last line, 'Starting Tor client,' sometimes shows, sometimes doesn't.

I'm having the same issue on Replicant 6.0 0004rc1.

Looks like this person is having a similar issue as well:

Update: The 68.8.0 version of Tor Browser Alpha in F-Droid fixed this issue on my device. The non-Alpha version still has the bug.
