Description

Once #3282 is done, Torperf should call trivsocks-client which makes requests over Tor and which was previously implemented by cron. The output should be appended to local .data files. For debugging purposes, it's okay to use the timeout script first. But eventually, Torperf should be able to timeout runs that take too long itself.

Assigning to tomb upon request.

Linus mentions that we should consider replacing trivsocks-client with a Python implementation to reduce complexity even more. We should find out if we can do all the things that trivsocks-client does in Python, and then consider rewriting it.

There's a new attempt to rewrite Torperf, starting with a design document. Closing all tickets related to the earlier attempt, because they're not relevant anymore.
