Does civi handle bounces?

Our newsletter goes out from the address info@… which doesn't really exists.

This means that when an address bounces we don't get to know that it has in fact bounced. This unless CiviCRM has a way to handle bounces?

How do we know is the address we send emails via Civi are still valid?

Hi, hiro ― our recommendation is to set up a real mailbox for info@…. Then, CiviCRM can be configured to connect to that mailbox via IMAP and parse the email and record any bounces in CiviCRM.

Ideally, the mailbox should only be used for this purpose, as CiviCRM adds a couple of folders to the mailbox and re-organizes emails in the inbox as it processes emails and determines whether there are any bounces.

Once the mailbox is available, we anticipate setup on our side will take no more than 4 hours.
