Description

The reduced exit policy [1] is missing ports for some instant messaging protocols, for instance Gadu-Gadu which is popular in Poland. The following are the entries we'd need to cover all the TCP based IM protocols provided by Pidgin...

ExitPolicy accept *:531 # IRC/AIM
ExitPolicy accept *:1533 # Sametime
ExitPolicy accept *:1677 # GroupWise
ExitPolicy accept *:2102-2104 # Zephyr
ExitPolicy accept *:8074 # Gadu-Gadu

Also one of the IRC entries...
ExitPolicy accept *:6666-6667 # IRC

should be the 6660-6669 range according to the wiki on port assignments [2]. Ports 6668 and 6669 in particular are within the officially assigned range so if we can't include them we should cite why on the reduced policy wiki.

Cheers! -Damian

The officially assigned port for IRC is 194. The officially assigned port for IRC-over-SSL is 994.

Do any ircds actually use these two? I've never seen any. I suppose the plus side here is that it is also very unlikely for bittorrent clients to chose the privileged range, too.

As to the other IRC ports, I can't find any references to them being default torrent client ports. I suppose we can open those up too.

Neither have I.
