The Cookie Monster addon could be used as a stop-gap until we have #3246 working, except for the fact that it's 3rd party cookie support is still not great. For example, it doesn't detect the 3rd party test cookie that DisQus attempts to set via JS, and so you can't easily get DisQus to work for it.

If you do decide to ship Cookie Monster for cookie control, there is a problem with it not saving site-specific cookie permissions across sessions unless Torbutton preferences are set to allow non-Tor cookies to be written to disk. I'm sure I don't really understand all the implications of this as I'm not a programmer myself, but I thought it might bear mentioning.

Hrmm. Yeah, I only want the addon for very limited functionality: To whitelist blocked 3rd party cookies. We'd probably want options to strip down the UI to this purpose.

I actually think it is a feature if these whitelists are temporary in the default config.

It also only would be a stopgap for the real solution: #3246.

It seems like including this addon might be more work than #3246, too. On top of that, I couldn't easily find the author's email address, either...

We don't want to have this add-on anymore.
