We should come up with a plan for how we can provide real time information on Internet censorship. This could for example be done by deploying ooni-probe, collecting data from the active scanning project, or we can keep it simple and use the planetarian aggregator.

I've mentioned this before but seems relevant for this ticket: open monitor is trying to do this too and may be worth reaching out to...
"Open Monitor is a project developed by Umit Project, and was started during Google Summer of Code 2011. Its goal is to provide real time data about internet censorship and restrictions world wide." [1]

That said, at first glance the source repository for their desktop client hasn't had activity for a month. Also, we haven't heard anything despite being asked to contact tor-dev@ when they had something ready, so their project may be running out of steam. Andrew also mentioned three other similar projects in his "GSoC Mentor Summit Trip Report" reply.

Cheers! -Damian

I think the blog posts we write is as close to "real time information" as we can get (at least until ooni-probe is rolled out).
