Description

So, after removing ~/.tor I became unable to bootstrap the latest Tor unstable.

The stable version works fine (with the exact same torrc) so I am using it right now.

I compiled both from source.

ORport = 2077
DirPort = 2078

Server OS: CentOS 5 x86_64

That's all the info I can think of to give right now. Just ask if there's something else you need to know.

I was asked to note this as well on IRC

<chk1n> interesting fact is that I used 0.2.3.7-alpha right before updating to .8
<chk1n> and after updating it worked
<chk1n> but after deleting ~/.tor.. well you know the rest

Has this gotten better? the day you reported this was the day the directory authorities were pretty unhealthy.

comment:3 Changed 8 years ago by chk1n

Yes. While I am still using the latest stable on the aforementioned CentOS, I had no issues in launching Tor 0.2.3.8-alpha on Slackware x64 (or Windows 7 for that matter), both running in relay mode.
