Description

In Linux I've noticed that if you are first running Firefox, then you start the Tor Browser Bundle and for any reason, you need to shut down Firefox and you want to restart it you can't, just another window of the Tor browser bundle will open, not Firefox.

Or if you start Tor first, then you can't open Firefox...

I personally don't get why there should be any relation like this to each other, since the concept of the Tor browser bundle is suppose to be self contained unit...

I hope the Tor Project will please figure this out so that Firefox can be run at anytime on it's own along side Tor.

THANKS

Sorry the title is not a correct representation of the problem it should simply be all of these;

Running Tor & Firefox at the same time...

Starting Firefox after starting Tor...

Shutting down and restarting Firefox with Tor running...

THANKS

Which Linux exactly?

And which Firefox do you have installed on the system?

(I agree with you that TBB should be self-contained. We currently think it is. Maybe we're wrong.)

Arch & Slack, both x86

This is a pain, because I will work with both browsers...

This does not happen on other Linux distros... We disable Firefox remoting in our launch script. Are you launching Tor Browser manually somehow?

Yes of course I launch it manually, how else are you suppose to start it in Linux?

I run OpenBox and I start it with a command in the menu like this;

~/.tor-browser_en-US-2.2.35-7/start-tor-browser

By the way I have not seen this problem since the last few versions of the browser bundle...

I assumed this was fixed, because I'm not having problems with it anymore...

THANKS
