Description

as i'm training peoples around the world, they all think the tbb is installz0red. in fact, it is merely extracted. given this state of affairs, said global citizenry using tor expect that there is a shortcut in the menu, on the desktop, and an uninstall program. Through the wonders of windows 7 snipping tool, i have prepared such a screenshot showing you the 7zip extractor pretending to be an installation progress window.

Due to the lack of shortcut, users do not know how to start tbb. perhaps after extracting such a program, you could arrange for it to be started automatically.

thank you kind sirs for the wonderous tbb, for it is truly a life saver for many.

What is the expectance of an average windows user for an application such as TBB.

What does the average windows application of this kind look and feel like?

The only similar thing I can think of is PortableApps, which also pretend to have an installer. They also have a flashier flash screen from what I remember. Maybe we should try to emulate their style a bit?

Though I should note that the 7-zip dialog clearly says "extracting". Do most Windows users think all grey boxes with progress bars mean something is installing? Genuine question. If that's the case then we should probably try to make it a little less confusing.
