Description
Vidalia freezes when I launch Tor Browser Bundle with the latest version and reinstalling (re-downloading) has made no difference.
As I am back and forth between Windows and linux I cannot definitely recall if this happened on my Windows XP boot before updating to 2.2.35 but I think it did not.
I have read disabling automatic port selection may help this problem but I am unable to access Vidalia's settings as it freezes straight away with the progress bar at about 2/3% or so. Once I click somewhere else on my desktop the entire Vidalia window is 'whited out'.
To counter this I changed vidalia.conf to:
[General]
BrowserDirectory=FirefoxPortable
BrowserExecutable=tbb-firefox.exe
LanguageCode=en
[Tor]
ControlPort=9051
TorExecutable=.
App
tor.exe
Torrc=.
Data
Tor
torrc
DataDirectory=.
Data
Tor
AutoControl=false
and I also added:
SocksPort 9050
to torrc.
These measures again made no difference.
Is there a known solution, and until one is found is there somewhere I can download a previous version of Tor Broswer Bundle?
I seem to have resolved the issue by removing PC Tools Spyware Doctor. I have since reinstalled Comodo firewall free edition, Microsoft Security essentials, and Ad-Aware free and restarted and it's still working fine.
