Description

Using yslow http://developer.yahoo.com/yslow/ to test the implementation of improvements listed here http://developer.yahoo.com/performance/rules.html it has been found that torproject.org websites could be improved to have better performance & save bandwidth.

This is no place for advertisement of third party software. If you have specific improvements in mind, be precise please and, ideally, include patches.

yslow isn't an advertisement, it's a tool to do performance testing of websites. However, having used it in the past, it's frequently incorrect. For the original poster's sake, tor's websites are hosted on two continents across three servers. yslow cannot tell the three apart. yslow also misses the gzip compression of most mime types, including text/html. It also assumes that if some part of css isn't used on the page tested, then none of it is used anywhere else on the site.

In my experience, native webkit devtools do a better job at identifying issues with performance than yslow.

it would have been helpful to list out the issues per website tested, rather than just state all or none have some issues.
