Description

Hi,

my logs are filling with

"Tor[31252]: Your computer is too slow to handle this many circuit creation requests! Please consider using the MaxAdvertisedBandwidth config option or choosing a more restricted exit policy. [13 similar message(s) suppressed in last 60 seconds]"

The thing is that only happens during specific cronjobs that are executed once or twice an hour. Is this bad? Should i lower the bandwith usage? Or suppress the warnings?

This is bad for users who can't use your relay since it can't keep up
with the circuit creation requests.

Try settting MaxAdvertisedBandwidth to something lower, as suggested in the log message.

(If you're on BSD, take a look at #4345 and see if that applies to you.)

I have only RelayBandwidthRate set at the moment, not BandwidthRate. However i mirror the directory, is it possible that i get a vast amount of traffic there, which isn't rate-limited?

Please try setting BandwidthRate (and possibly BandwidthBurst) too.
This will make your dirport traffic rate limited.
