Description (last modified by gk)

often i find my self clicking by habit on my 'home' button. and from there by habit always clicking the same few links.

i think this would be identifyable behaviour.

so to protect the users from their own habits, it would good to clear the homepage url when tor is enabled.

this can be done like this: m_prefs.setCharPref("browser.startup.homepage", "about:blank");

For most common homepages (e.g. will users gain anything by removing it as a startup page or home page?

Does it matter if you go to habitual places while in Tor, as long as you don't identify yourself? (e.g. don't use your work email.)
On the other hand, if you go to the same places all the time while not in Tor, then having torbutton block sites from your non-Tor history might make sense (if it can't be exploited to reveal that torbutton is running).

This seems to need a social engineering rather than technical fix: how to hint at users not to follow their non-Tor habits. I was going to suggest a drastic change of theme but i suspect the Torbutton is inconspicuous on purpose to reduce casual over the shoulder discovery of Tor use. Maybe some kind of tuTorial on better anonymity habits...

perhaps i am on of the rare persons having his own webpage ( ) as browser home.

that is quite identifiable as me.

yes, having an option automatically block anything from the non-tor history would even be better.
then perhaps in a way that users have to explicitly acknowledge that they really want to browse the same site
they have just visited while not using tor.
