There's also #5693 (closed) which should probably be closed as a duplicate.
And see also #4235 (closed), #4258 (closed), #4262 (closed) for related topics. It seems people can't agree on what ought to happen when the browser closes. Vidalia 0.3.x implemented a popup window when the browser closes, to ask the user what she wants to do. That's fine, but a) it doesn't support what this ticket wants, b) you have to choose right then, and there's no way to later run the browser, and c) none of our TBB users have Vidalia 0.3.x currently.
#5693 (closed) is not a duplicate. It's requesting a feature in TBB-Vidalia which would be much easier to implement than magic shell-script goo to relaunch TBB-Firefox.
It's a real mess. Too many components involved. There are so many tickets and conflicting solutions.
There needs to be someone in charge, who will that be? Mike?
Then the solutions have to be collected, discussed and then you'll need a roadmap. Otherwise the "We're working on a way to make this possible on all platforms. Please be patient." can be removed.
In case it will be a shell script solution, two people offered help. (Aaron Paden and me) While it can be probable no exclusive shell script solution, some help from other components may still be required.
