I understand this issue, but I'm not sure what a good default would be. I won't revert that commit like the user suggests because it was made to solve an issue with TBB.

The idea is that Vidalia's datadir defaults to ~/.vidalia/, so it looks for a vidalia.conf there. The user can set DataDirectory for tor there. But I recall rransom saying that that was stupid for a system-wide installation.

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

This has been fixed both in master and alpha. DataDirectory is ignored if it is empty.
