Description

I installed Tor / TorButton using the Vidalia Bundle, the bundle included: Vidalia 0.0.16, Tor 0.1.2.19, Privoxy 3.0.6, TorButton 1.0.4.01-fx+tb.
I have science installed the latest updates for TorButton (1.2.0rc1)

When I opened Firefox (Version 3 Beta 4) TorButton was disabled by default!
I enabled it, and made sure that Firefox was set up to use Tor / Torbutton and Privoxy! (Tools, Options, Advanced, Network)

I cannot open any web pages, because there is a compatibility issue with Tor / TorButton and Privoxy and maybe even Firefox!

Here was the configurations I used:
Note: address:port

Privoxy used 127.0.0.1:8188
Tor used 127.0.0.1:9050 (Tor / TorButton was configured to use Privoxy, with the above information!)
Firefox was configure: HTTP and SSL Proxy 127.0.0.1:8188 and SOCKS (Firefox said SOCKS 5???)Proxy 127.0.0.1:9050

Fixing this issue allows me to have a safe and anonymous browsing experience!

Well, my first thought is that port 8188 is not privoxy's port. It uses 8118 generally.

So either you have typos throughout your installation process, and screwed something
up, or you have typos throughout your bug reporting process, in which case it's hard
for us to guess what your problem is. :)

I'm sorry, I must have made a typo. I used all the default address and ports!

I was successfully able to run Privoxy standalone!!!

Does https://check.torproject.org say if you are using tor!! Please try to access this site!!

Also!! Please check your privoxy.conf file to see if it has the line forward-socks4a / localhost:9050 .

If it does not have this line, it is a problem with your privoxy config!! Also!! What does it mean
that you cannot open any web pages!! Can you please try to install the new torbutton 1.2.0rc3 tomorrow!!
It may potentially fix your problems with accessing pages from the very first window of your web browser!!

Thanks!!

flyspray2trac: bug closed.
I think this user has unrelated proxy config issues.
