Description

I installed Tor / TorButton using the Vidalia Bundle, the bundle included: Vidalia 0.0.16, Tor 0.1.2.19, Privoxy 3.0.6, TorButton 1.0.4.01-fx+tb.
I have science installed the latest updates for TorButton (1.2.0rc1)

When I opened Firefox (Version 3 Beta 4) TorButton was disabled by default!
I enabled it, and made sure that Firefox was set up to use Tor / Torbutton and Privoxy! (Tools, Options, Advanced, Network)

I cannot open any web pages, because there is a compatibility issue with Tor / TorButton and Privoxy and maybe even Firefox!

Here was the configurations I used:
Note: address:port

Privoxy used 127.0.0.1:8118
Tor used 127.0.0.1:9050 (Tor / TorButton was configured to use Privoxy, with the above information!)
Firefox was configure: HTTP and SSL Proxy 127.0.0.1:8188 and SOCKS (Firefox said SOCKS 5???)Proxy 127.0.0.1:9050

Fixing this issue allows me to have a safe and anonymous browsing experience!

I confirm this as a problem. I used the same download ( Vidalia 0.0.16, Tor 0.1.2.19, Privoxy 3.0.6, TorButton
1.0.4.01-fx+tb) and applied the same update (TorButton 1.2.0rc1) on Firefox3 version 3.0.

Clicking on a link causes no web access at all - my firewall shows no traffic through privoxy. It is as though firefox isn't making use of the proxy.
Web browsing is restored ok if TorButton is disabled or uninstalled (in Firefox.Tools.Addons).

I hope that this can be fixed ok. I use it only occasionally, but it is still one of my favorite addons.

I'm unable to duplicate this in winxp with ff3. torbutton 1.2.0rc2 correctly points firefox at localhost:8118, which
is where privoxy is listening.

Can someone upload a screenshot of the ff3 network config with torbutton 1.2.0rc2 showing the incorrect settings?

Is this fixed in 0.2.0.30 packages with torbutton 1.2.0-fx (stable) version?

I'm going to close this flyspray, since the versions mentioned are no longer
recommended versions, and we haven't heard anything newer. Please open a new
bug entry if there are newer problems.
