Description

I usually have these settings disabled:

"Remember passwords for sites"
"keep History at least xx days"
"Remember what i have downloaded"
"Remember what i enter in forms and the search bar"
"Enable Java"

when i enable and disable TOR via Torbutton these settings are automatically activated again.
they are not activated when Tor is enabled but get activated when disabling Tor.

Also the proxy-settings are not re-set correctly.

Try 1.2.0rc4 on https://torbutton.torproject.org/dev/. In 1.2.0rc3 I attempted to clean up a lot of these issues,
but mozilla has not yet updated the version on addons.mozilla.org. Please let me know if the issue persists in that
or later versions.

This problem persists in 1.2.0rc5. In addition to the settings listed by the original poster, I also see it with network.http.sendRefererHeader in about:config and "Show Suggestions" in the Search Engine bar. More problematic is that every time I toggle Torbutton (not disable it), it resets "Keep Cookies Until" from "I close Firefox" to "They Expire"
Thanks.

Sorry for the repeated posts, but I should clarify. The problem does not persist quite as described,
except for the "Keep Cookies Until" setting. However, disabling or updating the Torbutton add-on does cause the other
settings to reset to defaults. Toggling it only causes the "Keep Cookies Until" setting to reset.
Sorry for misreading the original post. Again, this is for 1.2.0rc5.
Thanks again.

The only thing that might be a bug here is if prefs are really reset on updating, which I don't believe to be the case.
I update all the time and my preferences are preserved.

Settings are restored on disabling because most often people are disabling the addon when something is broken,
so it tries to revert everything it touches into the browser default state.

If you notice a pref that is changed on updating, please file a new bug with that specific pref.
