Ive deleted the download and then re-extracted files / directories many times. Ive re downloaded at least 5 times always from the official site and ive tried extracting to different directories and even different HDD. I am always getting the same result.

Ive enevr had issues with previous releases of Tor, but am now coompletely unable to use it. I have no idea what could be causing the torbrowser to crash as soon as it tries to open.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Exciting!

Does the 0.2.3 TBB work for you?

(Go to https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en#downloadtbb and then scroll down to ALPHA)

Hi, thanks for your response

Ive downloaded the alpha from the page you linked. Im getting exactly the same problem with the alpha.

This is seeming to me like a problem with the browser itself, i havnt installed or uninstalled anything recently. Only change has been an attempt to update Tor by deleting the old and downloading the new.

When looking at the the problem details the fault module is detailed as the xul.dll, ive got no idea what this is but it would seem something is having an issue with it.

I am currently using Firefox 16.0.2 as my default browser and im having no issues with it.

I dont know where to go next with this. Not having Tor to use is a serious pain.

Woah, this managed to slip through the cracks. We fixed a couple of crash bugs in TBB 2.3.25-5 (#8337 and #8324). Can you try that version?

If it still crashes, can you try to find a specific action that triggers the crash?
