Description

Mozilla has a project to run Flash in Javascript without using the native plugin:

It doesn't sound like it can play Youtube videos yet. We'll want to keep an eye on it in case it ever can.

Do we know any of the devs? We should probably contact them to let them know our use case. We could in theory throw a bit of funding their way too, if it makes a different for our use case.

I sent a mail to Sid and Tom with some questions and cc'd tor-assistants. Here's the list of major Shumway committers, in case we decide we want to approach them directly: https://github.com/mozilla/shumway/graphs/contributors

Mozilla is currently planning next year's staffing/resource levels for Shumway, an R&D project. Seems quite likely that Mozilla's development path will support some but not all of Tor's needs, but resource allocation might upgrade that to potentially all of Tor's needs.

Trying to get Jet (Mozilla's PM for Shumway) to meet with any of Mike, Andrew, Roger, trams.

How likely is it that this goes anywhere? I mean, the approach by gnash also failed? Or is this different and does not require reverse engineering?
