Description

Hi Dererk. Stem (the library I've been writing to replace TorCtl - https://stem.torproject.org/) will be having it initial release in March.

Would you be interested in packaging our library for Debian? If so then is there anything that I can do to help? As I recall you didn't end up needing arm's packaging metadata [1], though I'd be happy to make stem counterparts for those if it would help.

Cheers! -Damian

dererk tells me he has a package nearly ready to be uploaded.

Thoughts on if we want a package for both the python 2.x and 3.x series? Stem work for that is done (#7843).

At worst, it should be possible to produce two binary packages (one for Python 2 and another for Python 3) from the same source.

Hi Dererk. I doubt it matters but just a quick FYI that the url for the ITP points to TorCtl rather than stem. :P

As mentioned via email my plan is tag our first release on the weekend of the 23-24th.

Thanks! -Damian
