can't change Torbutton-Settings, Torbutton doesn't stop

Description

click on Torbutton only changes the Symbol in the bar of FF 3.0, but FF Preferences > Advanced > Network told me Torbutton is still active.

trying to start Tor by clicking on torbutton-symbol results in error-code:
»The most recent Tor proxy test failed to use Tor.
Are you sure you want to enable anyway?«

trying to stop(!) or, to edit the torbutton preferences results in error-code:
»You need to toggle Tor or restart for your settings to take effect.« #tried to restart tor by typing »/etc/init.d/tor start > no effect

So there is no simple use of torbutton possible, I'm not able to understand what's going wrong there but I noticed, that foxyproxy (another FFaddon as well as switchproxy are able to handle
the tor-connection about FF without any of these problems. So perhaps it would be helpful to provide less features of torbutton or configure the default settings in a way, so it is more simple to use.
Sorry for my awesome English, hope you are able to understand this.

It sounds like you managed to configure your firefox and torbutton into a broken state. Did you try the
'restore defaults' button?

Sorry, i forgot this posting for the last few months. I'm sorry to tell you, that this problem isn't relating to me any longer, because I've changed the torbutton against foxyproxy.

flyspray2trac: bug closed.
Also, I think the user was more
just confused than this was an actual bug.
