Description

After using the user admin thing in trac, trac became unresponsive. I checked the load, it sat at 17 with a machine swapping heavily. Perhaps we could find a way to debug that/give the VM appropriate resources/optimize the webserver to use less ram or something?

The problem is the user admin interface in trac is horrible. It tries to load the entire table into ram and parse it live. sql queries would work wonders here.

It also depends what time of day you try to run this, as backups seem to slow down trac horribly. See https://munin.torproject.org/torproject.org/jepsonii.torproject.org/index.html for details.

Generally, the server is pretty idle and handles the load and google/bing/yahoo crawls well.

Ok to close? Or should we give the VM more memory first?

I think that more memory isn't the problem; I think it's probably just a really ill-conceived database usage pattern in this version of Trac.
