I think I hear someone volunteering to be the OSX package maintainer...

Our initial release should be tomorrow, maybe Wednesday. If this is something you want to take on (ideally both making the OSX package and instructions for doing so) then I'll ping you when I notify the other package maintainers.

Cheers! -Damian

Okay.

Hi Sathyanarayanan. Still interested in packaging for OSX?

comment:4 Changed 4 years ago by gsathya

I had a go at this. This was kinda harder than I thought since there isn't any python packages on homebrew. I guess mac users just use pip. Anyway I hacked up this -https://github.com/gsathya/homebrew/commit/eb29ae3d5c4eb44c98c0423517c8ce8dffe49c18

I'm not sure if this is the correct way to do this. I would hold off from recommending this to other people until other homebrew users have checked and verified this formulae. I bet this could be improved, but I'm not sure how.

Did you contact a list with homebrew users to verify it, or would you rather have us pass on homebrew in favor of OSX users using pip for now?

Dropping the parent so I can resolve that ticket (no reason to keep it open when only OSX remains).

Hmm, I'm gonna resolve this. Feel free to reopen if you think homebrew is preferable to pip for mac users and want to continue this.

Looks like Homebrew does not package Python libraries. The conversation can be seen at https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/pull/38911

Our download page now lists Mac OSX. Thanks, Sambuddha, for looking into this!
