Document installation steps for TorBirdy on Windows

We should document the steps required for TorBirdy's installation on Windows, which has 50% of the users.

This should include not only the documentation, but also screenshots that detail the installation and the configuration process.

I'm in the process of documenting the steps. I'd also like to create a short video clip. During the setup steps I stumbled upon #9402 (closed), which is a blocker for this documentation now.

(fixing it by changing vidalia's config is easy but I don't want to confuse users and I would have to redo the documentation ones #9402 (closed) is fixed.)

For now I have the following environment/requirements - please give me an ACK if you agree.

• the setup will use a "system tor" instance that starts as soon as the user logs in (no manual starting of tor/vidalia required before starting thunderbird)

• vidalia bundles (apparently) require administrator privileges to install (because it is a system wide install under C:\Programs (x86)..)

• user has the administrator password but uses a non-administrator account for his daily tasks

Hi tagnaq,

We will have to move the documentation work to the very end, because of other tickets that determine how we will be shipping TorBirdy; we will no longer need to depend on Vidala. See #9133 (closed) and #8936 (closed) for more information.

I think the tickets we could most use your help with are #6660 (closed) and #8775 (closed).
