The restore defaults button also exists to clean up Torbutton if it ever gets your browser into a wedged state
and so it resets all Firefox prefs that Torbutton touches back to their defaults for safety.

It's possible we could make a second button for unwedging Firefox, though.

If user click "Restore defaults" in dialog "Torbutton preferences", he assume that Torbutton preferences will reset to their defaults...

Or, at least, Firefox settings will set to their previous state (when "Tor Disabled").

It's possible we could make a second button for unwedging Firefox, though.

"Reset Torbutton defaults" and "Clean up Firefox" ?
It's not obvious, which firefox settings are reset. Proxy, language, and...?

p.s. Is it possible to use cache during Tor? For example, option "Use disk and memory cache during Tor (dangerous)". If tor is used not for anonymity, but only for bypassing local (office, country...) restrictions.

Don't know if this is relevant or if this is the right place and I apologize in advance if it's not.

I'm having a problem with the TOR button, I live in japan and use a english OS and prefer to see my pages in english,
problem is to do that I have to add the japanese language to the final list in the languages settings or else firefox don't honor the list of languages that it was supposed to use first and that is fine is a bug that nobody did care to correct and I just didn't think much about it till I installed TorButton which every single time resets the language panel and I'm forced to insert the japanese language to the end of the list so firefox understands that he must look for english pages first if there is an option like many websites today offer them.

If you want to test it just go to:
Edit -> Preferences -> Content -> Languages -> Choose

  • Add a language.
  • Activate and deativate torbutton.
  • Now go back to the languages and the addition you made should not be there anymore.

Probably Torbutton have a backup scheme and for some reason it's failing I don't know and I didn't look at it so if someone could please correct this it would be much appreciated.
