Description

Hi, and thanks for all your work. I ran Tor Browser Bundle
3.0alpha2 and the screen kept hanging for a minute or 2. I thought it was due to the recent vulnerabilities and posted as much on your blog. I took a screen shot (attached) of the hang and Zemana Antilogger's alert when a screen capture was in progress, or so I thought. But I ran the new Firefox 17.08ESR with the same problem without a Zemana alert, all be it on a different computer.

So I got a Task Manager dump of the greyed out tbb-firex.exe when it
was hung. The .dmp file, the !analyze-v file, and the WinDBG Open Crash Dump files are all attached if I'm doing this right. I cannot read them as they may as well be Greek. Do you know what is going on? The Tor Browser Bundle is useless in this condition. And I may be wrong but it could be Topix.com pages that cause it.

If you have any questions or I could help in any way feel free to
email back.

Regards,

George

OP here. On further experimentation this might be a conflict with dnscrypt-proxy.exe in Windows 7. If the tor browser works, once closed, normal 'net fails and it is necessary to restart the dnscrypt-proxy.exe service. When that service is running it appears the tbb-firefox.exe hangs at times. Could it be conflicting? Or maybe a MitM?

Anyone else running dnscrypt-proxy have trouble? It does run trhough 127.0.0.1.

OP update: it appears maybe a popup may be the problem. It happens for example when clicking inside a topix.com message window. When using normal Firefox this pops up.

http://cdn.optmd.com/V2/80255/186452/index.html?g=Af////8=&r=www.topix.com/

with an add.

With the TBB it hangs for a while. Could it be a NoScript setting? Usually in the TBB it will just hang, but once there was a popup that slipped through: "Zoosk - Tor Browser" but the window was black and the add did not appear.

After installing NoScript on the normal firefox the cdn.optmd.com popup does not appear but it doesn't hang either.
