Description

The 3.3.2 release accidentally updated some users to 4.0development.10. We need to push a 4.0development.11 release that detects which users used to be on the stable branch and then prompts them to downgrade back to stable.

We've started working on this at https://github.com/micahflee/https-everywhere/tree/fix-stable and https://github.com/diracdeltas/https-everywhere/tree/fix-stable.

We are detecting whether a profile used to be on the stable channel by looking for the "experimental_feature_cohorts" preferences. AFAIK, this variable was only set in stable releases after October 2012 (but never made it into development releases).

This has been pushed to master. We now need to push for translating this into as many languages as we can fairly quickly and then we can make the 4.0development11 release.

Apparently the number of development users has dropped from 25% to 2.6% since this was released, so I think we can declare victory on this ticket.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
